In situations where the users have to save data locally, Deep Freeze can be configured to allow specific portions of the hard disk to remain unprotected for the users to save to.
Deep Freeze has a number of ways to work with processes that require periodic changes on computers. Deep Freeze itself has the ability to install Windows updates on protected systems, both on demand and on a scheduled basis. For other installations and updates, a number of scheduled tasks or command line control components can be used to allow Deep Freeze to work with solutions and processes.
- Deep Freeze Standard is our basic product that protects 1 to 10 computers. It is intended for smaller deployments where the machines can be managed and updated manually.
- Deep Freeze ENT provides the same protection for any number of workstations (1 to 1000+ computers), but adds a large number of features that enable remote management, automatic updates, and the ability to integrate with 3rd party management tools.
- Deep Freeze Cloud is a cloud based management platform that incorporates Deep Freeze ENT with a web-based management console and a number of additional features to ease the management of computer systems protected by the platform.

- Deep Freeze is supported on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and Windows 10. The server edition of the software can protect Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2.
- Deep Freeze Mac supports systems running Mac OS 10.7.x and higher.
Deep Freeze requires 10% of the hard drive to be left as free space
- The Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator and Enterprise Console are supported on: Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and 2016 (32 and 64 bit)
